Project: Modernization & extension of a 1960’s bungalow to modern family home in Suffolk

Location: Wiston, Nayland, Suffolk.

    • A rural property with outstanding views across the Stour Valley AONB.

    Our clients wished to remodel the existing bungalow into a modern family home. The bungalow is situated on the north side of the Stour Valley with great southward views.

    The work involved removing the existing low pitched roof, extending the walls upward, a new first floor and roof to form the approved building. The layout was re-modeled including inserting a staircase and creating a more open plan family friendly environment. The main reception spaces are all centered on the fantastic southern views and light. The plot does not have any neighbours close by and lends itself to a floating balcony allowing the master bedroom to take in these views as well.

    The property has given a new lease of life with crisp contemporary features and finishes in a lovely rural spot, including a family friendly space inside, good views and great engagement with the outside.
